This issue contains Twain's short piece "Poor Little Stephen Girard"; though now generally accepted as part of Twain's ouevre, the piece was originally published in 1872 in a New York newspaper over the name simply of "John". Some newspapers of the time attribted it to him and others did not--Twain never denied authorship. Very good, some light staining to two corners of the wraps and some loss to the spine strip.
