He attended the Carlisle Indian School along with Jim Thorpe and went on to coach college football at Purdue, Washington State, Albright and Louisiana Tech. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2012. He also coache dthe NFL's Boston Redskins for two seasons in the 1930s.
