Highly regarded early work on powered flight, translated from the French. Duchene was a French military officer and scientist and this work was awarded the Monthyon Prize by the Academy of Sciences in 1911. Wear and occasional spotting to the cloth, small snag front cover, droplet stain to the head of the spine.
