Handwritten Love Letter dated 1878 from Herkimer, New York

1878. manuscript. Single sheet letter, both sides, in violet ink dated March 6, 1878 from Herkimer, N.Y. Reads in part: "Dear Grace,/ elighted with your society when it has been my fortunate lot to meet you in company, I have paid you attentions the nature of which you could not have mistaken....I will not attempt to press my suit in the language of adulation...for how could I speak in adequate terms of the beauty, inteligence[sic] & accomplishments of matchless oneto whom I write... (I) wish taht a closer intimacy between us...may be allowed to pay any addresses to you as a recognized suitor for your hand... I shall at once communicate with your...fatheron the subject of my wishes... Your devoted and sincere admirerer, Anon." Mailing folds and some repair at the folds.
