Latter-Day Poems (with three stanza handwritten poem signed)

Holograph three-stanza poem on front free endpaper, signed "Wm. Cowie" and dated ay Syracuse, Oct. 3, 1907. Apparently an original, unpublished composition (at least, not included here), humorous verse about fishing and "..the girl that did the cooking..." Collection of poems of various length and subject matter including history, fishing, Stony Island, life, death, etc. A tight, bright example, minor waer at the extremities. Two holograph corrections in the text, one at p. 49 and the other at p. 123. Scottish-born Cowie (1846-1913) was mayor of Syracuse in the 1890s, a temperance supporter, legislator and poet.
