New York: Grosset & Dunlap, (1937). First edition thus. Hardcover. Hardcover in orange cloth lettered in silver. Illustrated endpapers in violet and grey. Two black and white line drawing plates. Original Harper copyright date of 1909 appears on the copyright page but this edition 1937, issued to coincide with the release of the Warner Brothers film starring Errol Flynn and Claude Rains. THe only indication of this, as there are no movie stills in the book, is a small notice on the front corner of the jacket "A Warner Bros. Production with an All Star Cast". A tight, fine, fresh example , small previous owner's signature top corner of the half title. In the colorful original dust jacket with the prince seated on his thron and the Pauper standing before him. Bright with just very minor rubbing to theextremities and flap folds; rear panel is advert with photo for Booth Tarkington books. Quite attractive. fine / near fine. Item #E12905B
