London: John Osborn, 1738. Leather_bound. 12mo in full contemportary calf, raised hubs, intitials "D.P" (presumably for "Duck's Poems") in second from top compartment. (1) 239 pp. with frontispiece engraving of the author. A still-tight example but with the binding rubbed overall, bit of loss rear board lower corner. 1899 gift inscription and notation front free endpaper. Stephen Duck was an early 18th century English poet whose patron was Queen Caroline. His career sputtered after her death and Duck committed suicide in 1756. Very Good. Item #E12242
