Very scarce work by an obscure publisher of historical-based fiction about the Navy during the Civil War; it portrays actual life on an American man-o-war, presented under the character and in the language of a sailor boy. A tight, bright example, 1934 gift inscription from a mother to her son on the front free endpaper and repeated on the front pastedown hidden by the jacket flap. In the original two-color illustrated dust jacket, evenly soiled, wear at the spine extremities and with a small hole bottom right corner of front flap. fine / very good. Item #E10562B
