Anthology of pieces from one of the most popular young person's adventuer magazines of the first half of the 20th century, "The American Boy". A successor to "Youth's Companion", the magazine was in print from 1899 to 1941 and featured such contributors as Ralph Henry Barbour, William Heyliger and Ellis Parker Butler as well as offering occasional instructional and inspirational articles by sports stars like Christy Mathewson, Ty Cobb, Jim Thorpe and Red Grange.
