Black paper covered boards with red heart stamped on front cover and red lettering on spine. 218 pp. "Reissued 1957" on copyright page, making this the fourth printing of this, the first and most desirable James Bond novel. Correct first printing of this edition, with no integral ads and with "The Diamond Smugglers" mentioned on the jacket rear panel and described on the rear flap. A tight, bright example, light toning to the pages as usual. In the original dust jacket, colors bright, light portions of the panels somewhat toned. Neatly price clipped. Small chip to the head of the spine and a trace of wear at the bottom spine edge. A very handsome example of a high spot that is virtually unaffordable in first edition.
