A tight, very good example, some rubbing to the extremities and outer gutters. James Franklin Doughty Lanier, a North Carolina native, moved to Indiana after his graduation fron law school in the 1820s. His career turned to finance and he later loaned money to the State of Indiana to save it from bankruptcy and also helped finance the state's troops in tne Civil War.
